Outreach
Just like the name implies, reaching out is what we do! Outreach provides a unique link to community resources for older adults and their families. Often clients say, "I've talked to so many people and you were the only one who had the answers and cared to spend time with me!"
Referrals and information are provided for the many programs of East Valley Senior Services through phone calls, walk-in visits, home visits and community presentations. To assist older adults in their quest for independent living, information might include programs such as Meals While You Heal, Home Delivered Meals, East Valley Ride Choice transportation, Caring Corps, in-home assistance, behavioral health, housing options, rent and utility assistance, Rx voucher and pharmaceutical assistance, dental assistance, legal services, health insurance including Medicare Part D and caregiver resources.
Outreach Specialists initiate applications for S.A.I.L and AHCCCS and help with property tax refunds. They educate seniors and the general public by giving presentations and delivering informational flyers to social and civic clubs, senior residential communities, local faith-based groups and health fairs.
